Bulldogs Vs Essendon 2019

Western Bulldogs Unleash Record-Breaking Onslaught on Essendon

21 Consecutive Goals Fuel 104-Point Destruction

Essendon Ground to Dust in AFL Round 21 Clash

In a remarkable display of dominance, the Western Bulldogs demolished Essendon by a staggering 104 points in Round 21 of the AFL. The Bulldogs' annihilation of their opponents was highlighted by a record-breaking 21 consecutive goals, the second-highest scoring streak in the league's history.

The Bulldogs' rampage began in the second quarter with consecutive goals from Aaron Naughton, Bailey Smith, and Taylor Duryea. The onslaught continued unabated in the third quarter, with the Dogs adding another nine goals without conceding. By the time the fourth quarter commenced, Essendon had been completely overwhelmed, trailing by 102 points.

Nine different Western Bulldogs players registered goals, with star forward Josh Bruce leading the way with four. Naughton and Smith contributed three goals apiece, while skipper Marcus Bontempelli and midfield dynamo Jack Macrae each chipped in with two. The Bombers, meanwhile, could only manage five goals for the entire match, highlighting the Bulldogs' impenetrable defense.

The 104-point margin of victory was the Western Bulldogs' largest since their 16.17 (113) to 4.6 (30) triumph over the Sydney Swans in 2016. It also marked the first time since 2010 that the Bulldogs had scored 20 or more goals in a single game.

The win extends the Western Bulldogs' winning streak to seven games and solidifies their position in the race for the AFL top four. Essendon, on the other hand, has now lost three straight games and faces an uphill battle to secure a finals berth.
